Me and my dad finally got a chance to hunt our friends blind which is in the middle of a rice field near Arkabutla Lake.

After 3 years, I finally got my first kill which was a Shovler hen. Then 870 jammed and had to leave but it was great to finally get that kill.

It happens to my friend at least once every time we shoot.

He was in his stand with an 8 pointer about 20 yards from him and his gun jams. Talk about bad luck.

Anyway, nice kill. I bet you can't wait to get back out there.

It was the shell. I was using some old Remington Xpress shells that were a little bit oxidized on the ends and after I fired the release mechanism jammed around it. I fixed it by just slamming the butt to the ground to un jam it but was afraid to do so since there was still 2 live rounds in it.
