Catfishing at Lake Orange

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Was wondering when was the best time to maybe catch some nice cats at Lake Orange (now? spring or summer?), and where to catch them...

Here's a topographic map of lake orange (not much into detail...)

http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/fishing/waterbodies/maps/Lake_Orange.pdf

But for those who do know Lake Orange well, what is the best time to catch them and what bait?

Crawdads? Shad (filet or whole (if small) or chunked? Squid (we use squid a lot for catfish)? etc..

I am looking up information on WHAT species of catfish are in the lake that way I kind of get an idea on what to use, etc. but feedback is always good!

Thanks!

God bless  8-)

Yeah I know who you're talking about...

I MIGHT do some later this summer...I am sure dad would like to try it out...

Mainly I will bass fish this summer, stock the pond. Jeremy fixed the computer for now which is why I am on...He needs to completely fix it though.
