Pike will readily hit any lure in your tackle box, from bottom crawlers to topwaters and everything in-between. I'd give a very small edge to spinnerbaits in shallower water and a grub on a jighead for deeper water.

Pike easily cut line with their teeth, so you will have to decide whether to use a metal leader or not, considering loss of lure and considering pike swimming around with a mouthful of crankbait.

big inline bucktail spinners always worked the best for me...and dead smelt on a big hook under a bobber.....small pike will eat big lures too....i once caught a little baby pike that was shorter than my rapala original floater....steel leader is a must...my best fish were caught in the middle of the day on bright, hot sunny days

A steel leader is a must. Spoons, spinner baits and rattle traps in flashy colors like chartuese are deadly pike lures. Floating rapalas and husky jerks in firetiger are awsone. Mepps inline spinners in #3 & #4 in firetiger color are also great lures(with the hair).

Boondocks hit the nail on the head. Anything flashy, be it spoons, spinnerbaits, or crankbaits. Firetiger or clown work well for me.
