This weekend was opening day for steel head around my parts. The Saturday went pretty good... had a few hook ups ... landed one (see first pic)... hooked into a few others... then i hooked into this 10lbs + one and i fought it for about 3 mins and the it went near this brush pile and i was trying to steer it away from it and my brand new 9'6" 9wt snapped right in half! and this was my first time using it! Needless to say it ruined my day.  

So today my buddy picked me up and we went out again and he let me use his old 8wt and I got one more steely (see other pic)

First one was caught on a purple egg sucking leech and the other was on a black egg sucking leech

PS... this was the first time using polarized shades .... and let me tell you ... they make ALLLL the difference... i contribute them to catching these two fish... if u don't have them BUY THEM!

Polarizd glasses are a must in my opinion.  Not only for the fish but the UV protection.
