TF Comes Up Big - Pics

Featured Replies

Hey guys!

I've been living up to my screen name the past few weeks.  I haven't posted any of my results, but I finally have some time to sit down and post on what I've caught.

I've fished a pay lake near my house 3 times for trout, and have come up pretty good.  The pay lake is Catfish Cove down in Milton, WV.  I have used a variety of techniques on these fish, ranging from weightless wax worms to black jigs three feet under bobbers.

Here are some pictures for you guys!

Ha ha!  They haven't stocked any of the public ponds or streams around here, and won't until January.  Hey, I'm trying!   ;D

What you never fished at bass lakes on 585 outside of doylestown Bass Brat?? ;D  Never bass fished there but they got some 40+lb cats and tons of trout just like the ones he pictured. Wonder if that place is still open??

We have trout everywhere around here, I wish we had other species so accessible.  Like crappie, bream, bass, and catfish.  Maybe I should move back to the south. :-/  Then I would miss out on the wonderful smallmouth here.

Nice haul ther TF!  Just wondering how you do 'em up.  Do you fry them, boil them?

I fry them, and I have some information on another older post on how I do it.  I'll repost it for you.

"Troutfisher's Easy To Make, Easy To Use Trout Recipe"

Ingredients:

Number of trout desired to fix

Fish batter

Cooking Oil

Large pan

Pair of tongs for removing and turning fish

Step 1:  Get however many trout fillets you wish to fix.  When cleaning fish, clear out inside of fish and remove head, tail, and fins, leaving only skin, bones, and meat.

Step 2:  Thoroughly rinse fish in cold water.

Step 3:  Roll fish in fish batter mix, inside of the fish and out.

Step 4:  Heat oil in pan to medium/high heat.  After oil is warm, put 2-3 fish fillets in the skillet (depending on however many fish can fit in the pan)

Step 5:  After fish have cooked and are crispy, remove from frying pan and let oil drain from them.

Here's the trick!

Step 7:  Before eating the fish, grab the backbone of the fish and peel it out.  This will take out most of the bones, without the mess of having to do it beforehand.  Be sure the fish has cooled before you try this.

Step 8:  Enjoy!

There are some big dogs in silver creek! I personally have seen an 8lber pulled out of there and have caught a 6 myself. There is a nice stumpfield running right down the middle of the main lake ;) The fishing area is restricted to such a small area though. You gotta get lucky. All my life growing up I always wanted to get a boat out to the middle of lake anna it would be pretty awesome fishing I bet.

Sorry TF,was just reminiscing about a place I used to live ;)
