S Fla Shrimp Runs

Featured Replies

I want to try to net some shrimp in the inlet from my boat.

I will go on a weekday so there is minimum traffic.

What is the best time/tide to do this and what equipment will I need.

Many years ago, my friends and I used to net them from shore using coleman lanterns over the water at night.

Is there a better, safer way to do it from a boat?

Do you know the inlet in Boca Raton at Camino? Lately I have seen a bunch of shrimpers there. A lot use spotlights or just powerful flashlights. Only thing is, shrimping is a very meticulous activity; they simply see an individual shrimp, net it and throw it in the cooler, one at a time. I have never been interested enough to do it.
