Cumberland Striper

Featured Replies

My dad and I are going striper fishing on Lake Cumberland with a couple of his buddies from work.

It's gonna be in mid October and I have no idea what to expect.

Has anyone fished for striper on Cumberland or in general (I know some of you have)?

I am completely clueless about how to fish for them or where they hang out?

Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

I know this isn't the most detailed post, but you guys know as much about the trip as I do at this point.

Nobody?  ;D

I guess I expected as much with the little info I gave.

Get on kentuckyhunting.net.  There's some guys that fish for them pretty hard on Cumberland.

Just joined this forum yesterday.

How did your Cumberland striper trip go?

Is the lake still drained down for repairs?

I fished it years ago. Caught a ton of 12 to 15 lbers then when lake was at full pool. We just used white bucktail jigs along the rock bluff shore lines. Most fun I ever had striper fishing. I tried it a year later during winter when the lake was drawn down leaving the rock bluffs high and dry. It was a big zip.

I hope you had a good time.

The guy my dad and I were supposed to go with was hospitalized with severe migraines right before the trip so we couldn't go.

When he gets better, we will definitely be going out.
