I have caught pike every trip to the Boundary Waters using #7 or #9 rapalas and 3/4 oz rattletraps.  It's amazing how they seem to be following me around, or maybe they are everywhere in those lakes.

Congratulations. Unfortunately, I'll never make it to the Boundary Waters, which looks like a canoeist's and fisherman's heaven.

Northern MN and into Canada is heavily populated w/ pike.  Especially low pressured areas like BWCA.  The low press. areas also have much larger pike on average.

How are the Rapalas & traps holding up? Lot's of tooth marks... ;D The water is hard up there right now and looking at your clothes in the photo - you must be talking about an earlier trip...

They're everywhere up there, and they'll hit anything that moves. Part of me loves pike fishing, especially when I'm maintaining a 5 lb+ average, but it gets really annoying when you're fishing for other species.

Bring some spooks and Rapala Subwalks next time you go.
