what lures to use for striped bass? (clueless)

Featured Replies

there are striped bass in this place i am going to fish tommorow. i have never fished for them. should i use the same lures i use for LM? i usually use worms, brushhogs, senkos, tubes, etc. i am kinda clueless. the lake goes down to thirty feet and as shallow as 6, which end should i fish first? thanks

if youre asking what end to try first its probably a small enough body of water to try both ends, so there is your answer there. i would try flukes and 4-6 inch swimbaits

Use shad looking lures. Natural silver scale finish, or white bucktail jigs, silver spoons, Storm Wild Eye Swim Shad in shad color, silver Zera Spooks.

Around here they will start running up the rivers in a little over a month.  They seem to like white baits the best.  We usually do the best with a 1/8-1/4 oz. jighead w/ a curly tail grub(mister twister).  Sometimes it works better to add one of those small spinners so it looks like a small spinnerbait.

I have had luck with spinnerbaits with a plastic 4"shad.
