double bladed buzz baits

Featured Replies

Double buzzers are really good for windy days or when you need to slow your retrieve down.

Van Dam is using double bladed buzzbaits.

I have no idea if they are side by side or in line.

If you put some holes in the blades or scuff up the rivit you can change the sound.

It would be interesting to find out if the guys have had success with the double balded buzzbait.  For me, I have not caught anything on the double blades so I will stick with the "holes in blades" buzzers.

One of the advantages, and the reason that i use Double Bladed Buzzbaits, is that you can slow your retrieve way down and still keep the bait on top of the water.

I like to use a double blade more than a single.

You can fish them slower.

they make more noise.

when you burn them, they throw a killer wake that will make some fish crazy.

something different than what the fish see all the time.

On thing make sure the blades are counter rotating. On some cheep baits the both spinn the same way. they just don't work right

I prefer a buzzbait with three blades on one prop. Never have tried double prop buzzbaits, and the triple blades/one prop work better than the single prop, so I use them. Also adding a clacker inproves the bite ratio IMHO.

I use a very large double-buzz almost all the time when I feel a buzzbait will work. For me its all about the size and noise level. A really large double buzz with double clacker will move a ton of water, makes tons of noise, and goes really slow. That is the key to big surface fish most of the time.

I have one doublebladed buzzbait that has the blades side by side with holes in them. It worked wicked when fishing the Loxahatchee wildlife preserve in North Broward County FLA. I caught a ton of bass with it and quite a few Oscars. I agree, you can slow it down. I honestly haven't used it in a few years...it's in my spinnerbait box. Might have to try it this year.

to me there is no other way to go..I fish the persuaders quite about..My biggest bass ever 12.4 oz came on a white 1oz persuader..You can modify the blades by making sure they rub together to clack or sometimes when this doesnt work move them apart to be less friction..you can remove the skirts and replace with zoom fluke..This to me is an awesome presentation..In the spring through fall I throw buzzbaits about 50 % of the time..You can throw this in the  middle of the day in the hot sun.. I have much more success on double buzzers than single buzzers..All I can say is tie one on and hold on..the hits are awesome

A side by side double buzzbait is more weedless than a single and you can fish it in trees and bushes without it hanging. It also can be slowed way down and works well on windy days.

I like the Accent Buzz B 2 double blade buzzbait.  Compact and easy to fish slowly.  Have used them for years with great success.

I NEVER CAUGHT A BASS ON A DOUBLE BLADED BUZZ BAIT, BUT I HAVE CAUGHT PLENTY OF BIG GILLS ON IT.

Although my preference is for a particular buzzbait with a single three-bladed propeller, there were occasions on which side-by-side two propeller buzzbaits made all the difference (the fish would rise to my usual buzzbait without attacking, but would go crazy on the double propeller). Most of the time though the single-propeller, three-bladed buzzbait works better....

I like the double bladed baits as well cause it allows me to vary me retreive speed a little more than a single blade.
