Topwater

Featured Replies

What conditions are best for each type of topwater (spooks, poppers, props, etc.) I'm just wondering if say a spook is more effective in calm water than a popper and what not. Thanks  ;)

A short list of my preferences are these: keeping in mind that anything can change on whim if I get a notion that the fish want something different

Spooks and super spooks for choppier water rain, wind etc.

Sammy and gliding type walkers for slick water and or spooky fish.

Poppers for calm water, especially spitters.Large poppers for choppier water.

Props...Hmmm,depends on how loud or subtle the bait is,but I do like em in dirty water.

Chuggers or blooping types I like in or around heavy cover.

I like poppers in calm water. Buzzbaits work best in calm to slightly ripply water. For choppier water loud props with big propellers work best.
