Anyone mix plastic colors on purpose so they bleed together?

Featured Replies

Had some white Yum tubes that I got on sale, mixed some in with Tequila Sunrise Powerworms to go with a bleeding white, since I'm not sold on plain white as a color.  Have thought about doing with other plasticss as well.   Able to get my first bass on a tube with these, about a 3.5 lber.

Never knew you could mix them just by having one bleed onto another.  I'm going to have to try that out...

I dont mix them because i read somewhere that you are not suppose to.  The chemicals from the two different types can mix and ruin your plastics.  But thats just what i read if its working for you keep on doin it

Two different types of plastics might ruin them but not different colors. People have been bleeding costom colors for as long as we've had soft plastic lures. It's a great way to change things up on the fish.

Well Put. Anything different will make the fish wonder and that little bit of curiosity will help you out alot. A mix plastics all the time just for this reason. ;)

Done it by accident, which lead to me doing it on purpose. I have had some pretty good success letting colors bleed.

I had a brownish with white worm that mixed with red shad.  It turned pink/orange/white.  Very cool mix, like a milkshake.  I tell ya Red Shad just keeps bleeding and bleeding.

Don't mix super plastics like 3X with regualr plastics.

You can have a real mess if you do.

Otherwise, you will not have a problem mixing other plastics to make your own colors.

I know a guy that takes light colored Senkos and lays dark colored Senkos across them to get stripes.

Brad

I've done it with OK results, but ever since getting Spike It dip and colors, as well as a good ol fashioned Sharpie, I don't anymore.
