Anybody Going to the Classic

Featured Replies

It's my little boy's 13th birthday and were flying over Saturday to watch.  I think we'll try to go to the launch on Sunday morning and then over to the Expo until the weigh in.  big

I'll be fishing the Classic in another few years.

Make sure to take your camera and get lots of good pictures.  A few of Ike would be nice too.  ;D

I like that attitude.  Go get  um partner!  My boy has aspirations of being a pro some day.  I'm taking him to participate in the BASS Youth program here in Texas this year.  Gotta start young!  big

By the way, here's my tourny partner Chad. The one in the Texas shirt, not that other feller.picture142dc1.jpg

You know, it is going to be funny the day I do meet Ike.  I have talked to alot of people who are close to him in one way or another, asking them to pass on my name and email for an interview for this site.  Still no answer, but he'll probably say something to the effect of "so your that guy who keeps bugging all my friends".   ;D

I met John Crews at the Bass-A-Rama show in the Richmond speedway, I missed the day when Mike Iaconelli was there!  :-[

I would really like to meet Bill Dance, KVD, Denny Brauer or some others!!  ;)

I'll be there every day.......probably working the show at a couple stands, then maybe following a pro during one of the classic days or fishing logan martin again with a local or two.

i'll be wearing my Airrus Fishing Jersey or a Blue/Black fishing jersey with a black/ red hat. I should be wearing a red wwjd wristband on my left hand as usual. If any of you see me, please say hi!

I'll keep an eye out for you Ben.  BTW, great job qualifying for and fishing the Jr. Classic!!!  I'll bet you are still grinning ear to ear.

have a great time. I was at the 2005 Classic. Was right in my back yard. I will never forget it and am going to try to make a few others, maybe fish in one if I am lucky. Was on the water in my boat for the first day and last day from take off till trailer. Second day went to launch and then the expo, weigh in and back to the expo. try to go sat eveing to the expo that seemed to be the evening that the most pros where at.

Have fun. your son will never forget it.

Bighead,

Let me tell you that the Classic is unbelievable.

First, you get to see the pros up close and personal.

They will autograph your cap so wear a good clean one.

You will get a lot of freebies so get a plastic bag, fast, in the convention center with the products show.

If Tony Chachere is there get in line fast for some excellent fried shrimp.

Pick up all the coupons you can get.

I attended the Classic in Pittsburgh and I have a lifetime full of memories.

And you can meet the rod and reel manufacturers and ask questions, too.

Have fun and give us a full report!

Hey bighead, I recently moved to Central Alabama from McKinney, Texas. I missed the Busch shootout last year on Grapevine, but am looking forward to the Classic! We may go to Lay and to Birmingham for the weigh-ins, too!

Can't wait...can't wait...can't wait...

Thanks for all the advice guys! I've got all the new hats/autograph stuff gathered up. Hope some pros will be around after the weigh in. Coupons, free tackle, fried shrimp...I may loose my mind :o :o :o, lol. I can't wait to get on the smoker and head for B-ham. My boy has come down with the flu but we got him to the Dr. and he's feeling better already. OBF small world huh. How's Alabama treating you? Hows the fishing compare? big

Well here I am at home.  Spent about 8 hours in the airport yesterday but we had a bad wind storm that shut down the flights.  I can't express how disappointed I am that this trip fell apart.  My boy spent the bulk of his birthday sitting around the airport, there will be no meeting the pros/ watching the launch/walking the show.  I've lost the cost of the hotel rooms and rental car I pricelined and have not been able to get through to American to see about a refund.  So I sit here watching day old coverage on ESPN.  All I can say is DA#$ IT!  I'll drive next year and go for the whole show.  big
