Charity Tournaments - how to get one started?

Featured Replies

Good morning! I'm not only a newbie, I'm pretty much a "know-nothing" at this point. (I don't believe I've even held a fishing pole since about age 12) Sooo -- I am looking for some guidance and direction.

I work for a non-profit agency in Lancaster, PA. My manager and I have been trying to think of some new and different types of fundraising events that not everyone and their brother is doing and she came up with a charity fishing tournament. It sounds like fun, and we are very close to the Susquehanna River, so it seems like it would be worth exploring. But here our knowledge ends. I've tried to do some Google searches for a 'how-to" for something like this with no luck. But while searching I did happen upon this forum, so I thought I would consult the experts and hope that some of you can point me in a direction of how to get such a thing started.

I'll check back here for replies, or please feel free to email me.

Thank you very much for any help you can provide! :)

First you should contact some club out there to run it with you.  This way the tournament is run correctly and you still can get something for your charity.
