Kentucky Bass Tournaments.

Featured Replies

With having a little more time on my hands this coming year I plan on fishing a few tournaments.  Does anyone know where I can find fishing tournaments in Kentucky?  I am a member of B.A.S.S. , but don't know the first thing about tournament fishing.  I guess you could say I'm pretty green.

If you have a boat look at the wildcat and Midwest tournies these are very low cost and great places to start. they both are team tournies also. if you dont have a boat then look at becoming a member of FLw and fish the BFL's in the lbl series or the Bassmaster weekend series they both have the positive and negatives i fished the bfls and really like them but sometimes its hard to get in them without a boater this  has a for sure spot. and the Weekend series i know one of the guys that runs it and went to a few weigh ins and is a very smooth operations and usually not your huge turn out as in the BFL's.

If you have any questions about any of them let me know and i will try to help answer them.

Let's assume I know nothing about entering or fishing a tournament.   ;D

Like I said, I am a member of BASS, but I don't know the first thing about tournament schedules, guidelines, etc...

I do have a boat.

Could my wife fish as my partner?  We make a pretty mean team.   :)  Our last day at Lake Malone we caught a combined weight of 56 lbs. for 10 fish.  We were just having fun.

If men and women have to fish separate I could take on a non-boater for a partner in the tournament.

I know next to nothing about tournament fishing.  I need some direction.   :)

In the wildcat and Midwest you pick you partner(so wife, father mother son daughter, or brother anyone or you can fish alone is fine). And you and you partners weight ( best 5 fish) is combined as a boat not as an individual..

in the BFL and BASS weekend series you name is randomly drawn to either be put with a boater or a co angler. And your weight are totally your own so what you catch is yours and what they catch is theres( best 5 fish)

I hope this helps. If you have anymore questions let me know...
