This is for ALL THE MARBLES.....1 MILLION DOLLARS.

After the Day 1 weigh in yesterday, Mark Rose had about a 3# lead over second place Vida and from Vida back to third was between 3 and 4#. Sitting in 3rd was Brian Travis, he qualified thru the TBF and is representing well. We'll see if he can keep it going 2 days in a row.

Main pattern from published reports is it's a junk fishing extravaganza. Thats making it tough to get many bites thru the day. Many anglers in the Top 20 reported getting as few as 5 bites all day yesterday. Here's the leaderboard after Thursday Day 1

1. Mark Rose: 20-02

2. Kevin Vida: 17-05

3. Brian Travis: 13-15

4. Bud Pruitt: 13-13

5. Ron Shuffield: 13-09

6. Koby Kreiger: 13-02

6. Larry Nixon: 13-02

8. Carl Svebek III: 12-12

9. Andy Montgomery: 12-08

10. Michael Bennett: 11-15

11. Brent Ehrler: 11-05

12. Dave Lefebre: 10-14

13. Curt Lytle: 10-12

14. Chris Baumgardner: 10-04

15. Jay Yelas: 10-03

16. Dion Hibdon: 10-02

17. Anthony Gagliardi: 10-01

18. Terry Bolton: 9-14

19. David Dudley: 9-10

20. Mark Hardin: 9-08

I'm pulling for my boy David Dudley, hopefully he can bag enough today to slip into the cut.

Just about the same story as yesterday.....junk fishing. I think the only one in the Top 10 that has a 'decent' pattern going is Dion Hibdon, fishing brushpiles that he planted himself. Looks like the rest of the Top 10 is just running from spot to spot waiting for schooling fish to come up, which is a big gamble when fishing for a million bucks.

Day 2 Standings

1. Michael Bennett -- Lincoln, Ca -- 5, 11-15 -- 5, 15-05 -- 10, 27-04

2. Mark Rose -- Marion, Ar -- 5, 20-02 -- 4, 6-04 -- 9, 26-06

3. Brent Ehrler -- Redlands, Ca -- 5, 11-05 -- 5, 14-12 -- 10, 26-01

4. Terry Bolton -- Jonesboro, Ar -- 5, 9-14 -- 5, 15-12 -- 10, 25-10

5. Brian Travis -- Conover, Nc -- 5, 13-15 -- 4, 9-02 -- 9, 23-01

6. Chris Baumgardner -- Gastonia, Nc -- 5, 10-04 -- 5, 12-12 -- 10, 23-00

7. Dave Lefebre -- Union City, Pa -- 5, 10-14 -- 5, 12-02 -- 10, 23-00

8. Jay Yelas -- Corvallis, Or -- 5, 10-03 -- 5, 12-09 -- 10, 22-12

9. Kevin Vida -- Clare, Mi -- 5, 17-05 -- 4, 5-06 -- 9, 22-11

10. Dion Hibdon -- Stover, Mo -- 5, 10-02 -- 5, 11-15 -- 10, 22-01

five bass limit,

according the the another site article @ http://another site/news_article.asp?id=3018 hibdon said to his sons, "We're going to drop some brush." and then it says "He dropped about 30 piles throughout the lake in strategic locations."  in florida if you do this on a public body of water or a private body of water w/ more than 2 owners w/ access to the lake you have to have a permit.  and if you do it on a navigable waterway, like kissimmee you are going to jail.

i couldnt find any sort of info on a law on it in sc, but im shocked that it is unrestricted.  maybe even more shocked that he would talk about having done it to the interviewer.

I saw a guy last year that dropped an oak on the river on Toledo Bend. He did it about 7:30 am and I was the third boat that idled over it and punched in the waypoints.

What an idiot.

Any time I am sinking brush, I do it in the middle of winter when there are no other boats on the lake.

Here's the Day 3 Standings

1. Michael Bennett -- Lincoln, Calif. -- 5, 16-01

2. Dave Lefebre -- Union City, Pa. -- 5, 13-04

3. Terry Bolton -- Jonesboro, Ark. -- 5, 10-15

4. Chris Baumgardner -- Gastonia, N.C. -- 4, 10-09

5. Brent Ehrler -- Redlands, Calif. -- 5, 8-08

6. Brian Travis -- Conover, N.C. -- 3, 8-02

7. Dion Hibdon -- Stover, Mo. -- 4, 7-02

8. Kevin Vida -- Clare, Mich. -- 4, 6-03

9. Jay Yelas -- Corvallis, Ore. -- 4, 5-09

10. Mark Rose -- Marion, Ark. -- 2, 1-13

Dion's brush didn't work out so well. Maybe he'll be able to do something with it on Sunday. Michael Bennett might become a millionaire tomorrow if he keeps doing what he's doing.

Congratulations to Michael Bennett, he pulled out the million dollar win today. He only weighed 4 fish (one of those was dead) but ended up winning by more than 5 pounds.

Claims he caught most of his fish throughout the tournament on a Snag Proof Fred Frog in a custom color.

The Cup win today was his second win this season.

Payed no attention to it this year. First time in 3 years I wasn't there.  :(  But Champlain was better.

My buddy Lowell who I fish with won the Junior World Title for the 11-14 age group.
