norman crank baits

Featured Replies

I have been buying a lot of norman flat N and the baby N and these baits have been running terrible out of the box, i mean its been ridiculous take em out of the box tie em on and they run right out of the water, does anyone have any tunning tips to help this, i mean i know how to tune a bait, but if you turn the normans to much they break its been terrible i like the baits but they have to start running well for me before i will ever use them again

I have ALOT of Baby N's, Mad N's, Little N's, and DD-14's, and I've never had a problem with any of them running true right out of the pack. It seems odd that you would run into so many bad ones.

Improved Clinch, or Palomar. Alot of times I use a Dou lock.

Just about every small Norman crank I buy runs crooked.  When you tune them, move it very little, sometimes it looks like you haven't even moved it.  They are very sensitive.  I never have a problem with the larger models, only the small ones.

x2.

All of my DD22s have run perfectly out of the box.  Every other Norman crank has been out of line.  Some are so bad I could not tune them at all, I had to bring them back to the store...

it seems all the ones i bought that run terrible were purchased from bass pro, im gonna try to buy some else were just to give it a shot, i have no idea what the problem is, I mean I am pretty anal about how my baits run but the shallow running normans i bought lately were garbage, I went out and bought lucky crafts before my last tournament I was so frustrated

I picked up about a dozen Norman cranks in various models at Dick's in the beginning of the season and I believe they have a diagram on the back of all the packages that shows you how to tune the bait if it isn;t running correctly.

Mine run fine too, the only reason i can think they don't run true, is because of you line, it my be to heavy?  :-?

As stated, it doesn't take much bending of the eye to make a big difference in how the bait runs.  Sometimes it seems like you barely changed the eye position at all and yet the lure locks right in.
