Just my luck!!

Hey everyone,

Fished a lunker tournament at Glendale Lake, Central, PA.  Could only use the trolling motor because my baby (25hp tohatsu) decided to take a big ole crap the other day.....(still can't find the cause)  We fished for 2.5hrs without a bite.  Then we ventured a little too far away from the dock and wouldn't u know it, hooked into a nice one.....not sure what won the tournament but mine was over 3lbs.....We didn't even try to make it back...figured we would enjoy the beautiful night and fish a little more....by the time we got back to the launch the weigh-in was over and everyone was gone...Kinda lost cause trying to hurry, going into the wind with a battery that I forgot to charge......Horrible....HORRIBLE pre-planning.  My cousin was supposed to look at my motor but completely blew me off the other night so...as  you can imagine......it was "one of those nights."   Team "NO B.S." will be back out in full force tonight with charged batteries and hopefully be able to run my outboard.

fishincop640, correct me if I'm wrong but you seem to have a lot of issues that may be caused by trying to cram tournaments in with shift work scheduling.

Iv been there, I learned it isn't worth it unless you have the preparation time. I used to try and fish trails not knowing if i could have the day off or going straight to fish after working midnights, same thing used to happen, un charged battery's,baits not re tied.

Its a tuff road to travel buddy.

You are probably right!   It seems like I have a lot of time in practice and prior to the tournaments to prepare but always have to cram during the tournaments, like day before, day of, and the day after....Usually because I have to switch and pull a suicide shift just so I can have 6hrs off on Saturday mornings!   I will slow down sometime....but I definitely see where you are coming from....Thanks for the input

Planning and preparation are always a good way to go. Live and learn. Better luck next time.
