To Go Pro?

Featured Replies

Was wondering what it takes to be a pro on the BASS Elite Series or the FLW? Do you have to qualify or win big tournaments? I know in the walleye world all you have to do is be able to flip the bill for the entrie fees, no qualification necessary.

Just curious.

You need to qualify through the Opens to get invited into the Elites. Then theres the matter of footing the bill to compete.

The point system will still be employed to determine Bassmaster Elite Series qualifications. The top five pros in each Open division will automatically receive an invitation to move up to the Elite Series.

No idea about the FLW's.

Basicaly it takes you working as hard as you can for years until you finaly make it to the top only to find out that it cost a ton.

When you talk top five in each open division are you talking the Federation Nation divisions?

I  believe for the FLW tour you can theoretially sign up without any qualifications.  However, they only take a certain amount of boaters so if you don't qualify through one of the lower divisions, it's unlikely that you'll get in due to the guys who qualified already being signed up.

no he means the bassmaster opens, only one federation nation member qualifies each year, that would be the winner of the federation nation national championship. the flw any one can sign up for.

Did something change this year for BASS? I thought I read a thread on here last year about all the new guys that jumped on board to fill last years field, and they did not qualify through the opens and had no wins or winnings? Maybe it was a different forum?
