Fishing majors

Featured Replies

Don't you think it would be awesome to have 4-5 Majors like the classic or flw cup per year. Maybe a U.S. Open like golf has would be sweet too.

They have the Elite Series and the FLW Tour. If they fished the Bassmaster Classic 5 times each year, it would be the Elite Series. If they fished the Forrest Wood Cup 5 times, it would be the FLW Tour. Keeping the championships at the end of each season makes them that much more special.

nhclone is right.

The "big" tournaments are the B.A.S.S. Elite Series and the FLW tour.

These tournaments are the big ones to find the guys to fish for the championship, other than the guys who qualify from the clubs via their tournaments.

Check out FLW and B.A.S.S. for the locations of the Elite and FLW tournaments for 2011.  :)

Yea i guess i just wish the tours lasted longer. Elites its 8 -10 tournaments and done...flw a little better. Of course you throw in the opens and stren series, etc it makes for more, i guess i just want to see the big guys fish some tournys in fall or winter and see how they would approach that situation.

I see your point, since the Elite Series is basically February to late June and the FLW Tour is February to early August, but both series have opens later in the year that a lot of guys fish.

The PAA is probably closer to your US Open. They have 4 tournaments a year plus a classic and it has pros from both circuits as well as a few who aren't quite at that top level yet.
