Hello, my name is Derek Clark. I am a sophomore in high school, and I am an avid bass angler. Many of the men in the fishing groups I am in look at me as somewhat fanatical about this pursuit of mine; not a hobby, but rather a lifestyle. I have always loved to fish for all species, but about three years ago I began to take more pleasure in catching bass.

So why would you want to sponsor me? Because fishing is my heart and soul. When I am not out on the lake, I am practicing pitching and flipping in the front yard, or cleaning reels in the house. Even though there are not many people who love to fish that are younger than I am, I still try to notice them and help them in any way I can. I believe in myself. One way or another I will fulfill this lifelong goal, and I would be honored to be able to increase the sales of you products and services along the way. So please help me fulfill my dreams of becoming a professional angler. It starts right here.

First off, I want to say congrats on spelling SPONSOR correctly.  Thats half the battle for most people and I'm totally not kidding  :D

A few tips on your resume.  Potential sponsors dont wan't to hear that fishing is your passion, they want to hear only about what you can do for them.  Another thing they like is to hear that education is a priority and that you consistently have good grades.  I haven't posted a resume because I could care less about getting a sponsor.  If they come, I want them to come to me rather than me going toward them.  Just keep fishing and stay clean and stay in school and I'm sure you can get one.

A friend of the family let them know about Ryan I believe.

They asked Ryan to work a booth one year and the relationship grew.

They would not have considered him w/o his grade point avg.  That is the biggee when it comes to youth and sponsorships.

Thats how I got on the Airrus Jr. Prostaff and Cache Custom Lures', Keep those grades up!!!!! One stupid mistake can screw up your record, and sponsors will not think twice about discarding your resume.

Keep Fishing

Ben

Ben is another good example.

After speaking with Ken Whiting at Airrus, he informed me that they won't even consider you if you have less than a 3.6 GPA.

Ben, your a great example. It means alot to a sponsor if you keep your nose clean and your brain heading in the right direction academics wise.

GB-  Tru-Tungsten was brought to me.

3.5 and they wont even take you, wow. Great job ben and ryan. I usually have between a 88-92 average but above that is really hard to get.
