Objective:

To obtain a sponsorship with freshwater tackle companies, with the mission of increasing their angling product market share.

By participating in tournaments, I have become familiar with specific techniques and product use that I have utilized with success. On a number of occasions, I have been sought out and asked for advice by other competitors. Given my age, I feel that this is more than an accomplishment. I feel I can reach a portion of the market yet untapped that of the youthful angler. I have given speeches in both youth and adult settings on the angling experience.

Experience:

2006-2007 American Bass Association Tournament Series.

2006-2007 Angler's Choice Team Circuit.

2006-2007 Multiple open tournaments in California

Awards and Placing:

Big Fish award, 9.06 Largemouth Bass

Multiple Top 5 finishes (co-angler)

Commitment:

I am willing and able to man booths and make appearances to demonstrate and promote angling products at shows and other venues.

Education:

2006-Present Villanova Preparatory School (3.8 GPA)

Nick, why do you deserve a sponsorship over any of the other people soliciting the same companies you will ultimately try to hop on board with? Answer that question and then make it apparent in your resume. If your resume reads like a bio, a bio that all other anglers submit, then nothing sets you apart and likely nothing in it will get you recognized. You want to strive to offer something a little different and not so mainstream. I read a ton of resumes each month and although you and others may be great people, I'm looking for something that sets them apart from the pack, I'm looking for an individual.

This is precisely what prompted my other posts about why younger

kids are seeking sponsors.

There is nothing here to indicate that you really deserve a sponsorship

over the other thousands of proven anglers.

Chances are good they already have someone in the marketing department (if its a larger tackle company) that they pay to attend such shows. Plus, if they dont feel the need to market to young anglers, you're of no use to them. Try calling a specific company you are interested in and ask them what they are trying to achieve in their marketing endeavors. That way you can tailor your marketing program about them, instead of them tailoring their marketing program about you.
