Bass weren't biting...

Featured Replies

I just got back from a trip to Panama City Beach to visit my family for x-mas. My stepdad just bought a 22' bay boat and we decided to give some fishing a try! We never caught a single bass, but we did manage to get about 40 bluefish in the boat and one grouper! Not too bad for a 3 hour trip...

your right, thats the biggest grouper ive ever seen in my life! That probabbly broke some light tackle records too, ide check into it! How was the weather down there this time of year? i used to go to Panama City every year, but havent been able to do so for the last 2 yrs. Looks like fun though.

77 degrees on saturday! Very nice fishing weather. We were going to go try for some red fish, but my stepdad has been sick and very weak for the last 6 months. So we fished near the boat ramp in case he started feeling bad. He didn't want to get off the water after we started ripping them, it was nice to get out there with him and enjoy his new boat!

I love catching blues.....they give my drag a good workout!

Bluefish are SOOOOOOOOOOO much fun to catch, especially on light tackle.

Excellent dude, excellent.

Up here, those are called "schoolie" or "snapper" blues.  They are the first to arrive in late summer.  When the bigger blues come, those disappear.  They are the perfect tuna bait in that size.

Looks like fun!

There was another guy fishing the same spot as us. His son was aaround 10 or so and hooked into about an 8 lb'er. It gave him about a 10 min fight. The largest we boated was about 3 1/2 lbs. We had a few nice ones on but they bit the line in half. One bit my finger and I bled like a stuck pig for a while. :o
