OK, so just a few days ago I was slaying em on a dropshot rig.

Soze I goze out today figgerin a dropshot rig right?

I mean nothing has changed.  same air and water temp, no rain or change in wind, barometer etc.

Well, nothing would bite my little worm.  

I was a shakin and twitchin and givin it all the sex appeal I could muster

nothin.

start goin through the "usual suspects"  meaning ratltraps, jigs, worms, cranks,and senko.

nothin.

I never saw the bass this finicky.

The only bait they would hit was a sluggo.  they jumped all over it but wouldn't touch anything else.

strange, but I was glad to have found the key.

biggest was just under 3 lbs.  most were a pound - pound and a half.

Oh, I switched up to the 6" sluggo in the same arkansas shad color, but they wouldn't touch that either.

weird.  Reminded of trout when there is a hatch on.  If you don't have the exact fly in the exact size you go home.  

I can't remember the last time I had a day where the bass were this selective.

I've asked my self that question many times.....

We are talking about creatures with the brain the size of a pea!  You would think intelligent human beings like us would be able to catch fish withou thinking!  Guess the fish get the last laugh when they decide not to bite!

thats weird bass usually hit most things you put in front of their mouths when they are hungry. Maybe they just werent hungry??

i have seen a few fish like that but never had a day like that huh that really makes me think about it.

Some days you can catch a fish on a plain hook...other days you throw everything in your tackle box and come up empty.

i know what you mean.

i had a day early last summer when i was flipping into some cat-tails with everything i could think of.  brush hogs, crawfish, beavertails....nothing.  until i put on a 5" flipping tube.  they were all over that.  but nothing else....not even any other bait in the same color. :-?

and sometimes no matter what you throw you can hammer them all day long.  that's what makes this sport so much fun.
