Good ending2a good day? Or a bad ending2a goodday

Ok, I'm very frustrated about how possibly my best or 2nd best fishing day this spring ended...

Today I caught a nice 3.5 and 3lb bass, along with a few other 13-15 inch bass..

Cause 2 on a wacky rigged senko (First time I've EVER tried wacky rigging anything).

I started to head back up to the car, when I realized the park closes at 8:30 and I had 30 minutes left to fish!

I wacky rig a senko with a EWG hook (yes I know this isn't right, but it's all I had with me ;D)..

So I drop it 10-15 ft away from me, and all of a sudden my line just shoots straight and I was caught so off guard I gave it a real half a55'd tug.. Fish jumps out of the water 2 seconds into the fight and fish off.. The fish was 5-6lbs just roughly from looking at it.

10 minutes left, and I was so frustrated, I threw another senko in the same spot over and over, and bam, my line shoots straight again, this time I yanked I hurt my arm.

I had what I thought was the same bass I had just lost to, and the fight began.. When all of a sudden I hear (the park is now closing, please exit or you will get a ticket)..

Without thinking, I just tightened my drag and tried to reel the sucker in.. Surprisingly I got him to the dock and was about to try and reach my hand down, when he shot under the dock... AND SNAP! Line snapped like it was nothing , a good 3 ft above where the hook was.. I was using 8Lb line that shouldnt' have done that..

It wasn't the same fish, this one was AT LEAST 2lbs heavier, just nicer all around...

So I hooked 2 very nice bass in the ending 30 minutes I fished.. But had nothing to show for it because I couldn't get them in..

How would you guys think of the ending ?

Would you guys say it was a good day with a good ending? Or is that a bad ending?

I'm so frustrated and upset, and just so d**n angry!     I wish I could think of it as a good ending, but to be honest, I dont' know whether I would have rather not hooked those 2 nice fish and just left without that last 30 minutes...

Sorry for lack of pictures, I need to get a real camera, my phone screws up and just aggravates me even more!

I wish.. I work tomorrow and might be selling my car tomorrow. God darnit..

I'd go tomorrow morning, but it's $6 for parking, $4 for permit, and it's  45 min away!

ok, well. Um. Next week, maybe? ;D You'll get back there soon enough and now you know a little bit more information to help you find the fish, get them to bite, and land them.

Eh, from now on, trust me, I will.. Just got too worried about it..

Instead of getting too upset, I'm trying to think of the positive. First day trying out a Wacky Rigged senko and caught some nice bass, and hooked 2 VERY VERY nice bass that although I was unfortunate about not getting in, still gave me TONS of confidence in wacky rigging a senko. I'm going to buy the proper hooks (Octopus hooks? or is that not what they are?) so I can properly fish the wacky rig, oh and I'm getting 10lb line.)

Oh and after thinking about it, would fishing in saltwater 4 days prior with the same rod and reel cause the 8lb line any damage?

I was just thinking about that, I was at a river near my girlfriends house, and saw a guy catching some striper, so I decided to have a go, hadn't even thought about changing my line until thinking about it tonight..

saltwater shouldn't cause any harm to your line.

lunges from big fish without much line out, can pop even heavy line.

bummer!

The d**n fish was right at the dock, I close my eyes and can see it right there at the top of the water, I put my hand down going to reach for it, and ZZZZZZ the line goes for 2 seconds and snap under the dock..

Oh well, I'm going to bed, hopefully I can get the horrible image out of my head..

Four, if that happened to you, is that a Bad ending or a Good ending? Would you rather have not hooked 2 nice fish at the end, or would you have been happy to hook them even though they got away?
