Good Day On The Water

Featured Replies

I finally broke my no-fish streak today. I went to the Suwannee River here in FL and caught five bass on t-rigged Zoom Trickworms. They weren't keepers (they were all about 12in) but it was still fun. What's even better is that I now have almost mastered setting the hook with plastic worms. My percentage today was 71%! Not bad compared to my usual 20-30%.

sounds like a good day....i havent gotten the hang of setting the hook with a worm....how did u improve it?.. all i do is set the hook a second time severel seconds after the first an that somtimes works but not near enough

RedneckRiot27, I always wait a second or two before setting the hook, and it worked today. I think the main way I improved is that I'm no longer afraid to really set it hard. In the past I would just give a little jerk, but now I slam it home. I've also gotten into the habit of setting it a second time (like you mentioned) just to make sure.
