It was really windy today, but it was cool and overcast and I had the Jones.

But it was REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEely windy.

15-20 knots steady with gusts up to 30.  I was thinking that this was a little crazy, but I felt safe.  I can't say enough how the canoe stabilizers have transformed my 14' canoe into a rock steady fishing platform.

Anyway, I'm trying spinnerbaits, jigs, topwaters, ratltraps.   I could have worm fished with heavier weights but I decided before launching that  I wasn't going to use any soft plastics.

Well, after almost two hours it started to rain.  I was hoping this would turn on the bite, but no such luck.

I gave it another half hour and packed it in.

It's been a while, so I guess I was due.

The exact same thing happend to me today, exept it was using soft plastics alot and was fishing from the bank.

When people ask how it went I say "The fishing was bad, the catching was bad and the weather was bad. But I got one hit, and I wouldn't have if I was sitting at home drinking coffee."
