The monster that got away

Featured Replies

Well, it wasn't a monster, but...

I decided to do some Crappie fishing as the noon sun came over head, so I headed to a Crappie hole. I dug out my little countdown size 1 Rapala fire and tried casting for them. About my 20th cast, something didn't feel right on the retrieve. I just figured I picked up the top of one of the weeds. As I get the lure almost to the boat. I notice my line isn't coming in straight. Hmmm, what's going on??? As it get's closer, I see the problem, I HAVE A FISH ON!!! LMAO as I see what it is, I bring it up to the boat. As I'm pulling it up to the boat from the water, the darn fish comes off the hook. It was a LMB about 3 times the size of the little #1 Rapala. Sometimes, moments like that are almost as nice as bringing in a lunker.
