6 Bass in 50 Minutes! (Pics)

Featured Replies

I hit a small public catch and release pond this evening to break in a new rod and reel combo I recently purchased, a quantum reel and nice cork rod.  Well, needless to say, the results speak for themselves, I caught 6 bass within 50 minutes, a few on small white wacky rigged senkos as well as some caught on green "slider" grubs and small imitation hellgrammites.  While the fish I caught were of no large size, I saw at least 3 I can think of that would have topped 4 lbs!  They looked like cruising logs in the water.  However, I couldn't get them to hit anything.

Here are some pics of the evening.

My largest bass of the evening.

Some smaller bass.

Hopefully with the gradual drop in temperature, I should be able to hook into some of those pigs lurking in the pond within the next few weeks!  Any comments appreciated.

Thanks!

Haha, I just bought that same tackle box two days ago since I just started smallie fishing.  Enough to fit my tubes, weights, senkos, jerkbaits, finesse jigs, spinners, topwater and cranks in.  I use that little box that comes with it, plus two binder type plastic holders that fit everything else and fold them up and put them in the pockets.  Pretty sweet setup actually.  I can even fit my waterproof camera in it.  Can't beat that for $10 either.  Nice job out there Trout and don't let people pick on the tackle.  Haters lol.
