My first cast

Featured Replies

Been fighting a cold the past few days - couped up in the house when its been pretty nice here in central NC. Well, weather finally got the better of me and knowing a front is coming through tomorrow took off down to the pond late this afternoon.

Not feeling well, didn't have a lot of time and didn't feel like fooling with tying on lures so just grabbed what I thought might be effective. Thought was they would be on the upper end where its warm - gets full sun in the middle of the day and its shallow - so I grabbed a spinning rod that had a Rapala Skitter Walk Bluegill pattern and headed down.

Never had this happen before.

Very first cast and start slowly walking it back with long pauses. Boom. I catch this - on my first cast - never ever had that happen before.

Right on! I too am sick, I have a chest cold and I been hacking up flem all week. Too bad this is my spring break from school...

I went out yesterday and brought down my black and red chatterbait and hooked a bass that was about 9 ounces.

So far I have caught two bass this year, but I will be going out more when this darn cold clears up....

Thanks, guys.

This cold/flu stuff is bad this year.  I have felt bad the past 3 days, but tonight is by far the worse I have felt.  This stuff is terrible.

I didn't catch anymore.  I switched over to a zero and slowly pulled it across the bottom.  Got a couple hits but missed.
