Anyone use one? What do you think? It is over hyped, or would you recommend it?

The Rooster said what I wanted to say in another thread, but he beat me to the punch (he wasn't talking about the box you're asking about, but I think it applies to any tackle storage system):

Nice box, and if it suites your needs then that's all that matters.

If these are what your talking about, then yes, I have a couple.

I have the 3714 which I use for jigs and the 3734 which I use for cranks.  I personally like them.

I like them because they help me keep everything organized.  The downfall is that they don't hold as much they way they are designed.

I especially like them because you can easily see what you have instead of digging through the box hoping to find what you need.

I was wondering about that. You can't slide 2 baits into one slot then, right? It doesn't sound like it. Small cranks, maybe? I'm getting a little tired of the digging myself. I often get sidetracked while looking for a certain bait when I go "Oh yeah, this is in here, let me try that instead" and waste 30 minutes of fishing.

I was looking at the big orange tackle bag, but that's really big and expensive. Now I'm looking at the 3258 or "satchel". It's the birefcase looking tackle bag.

What I do to maximize the storage room is I like to put a couple baits in each slot.  In both the jig box and the crank box.

In the pic below I point to a small spot in the box that is wasted space. It is under the last fold up compartment in the box.  I put "extras" in the slot.  In the crank box I put jerkbaits and/or a couple topwaters.  Anything that is too long to fit into the slots.

In the jig box I use the space for larger 1oz jigs and also extra skirts.  The spaces between the flip-up slots can also be used for smaller stuff like skirts and I even fit some smaller unskirted jigs that I can throw together as needed.

As far as the crank box goes, I do fit 2 cranks in each slot.  However you can't fit larger cranks into the slots.  No series 5's, no DD-22's, etc....  The biggest crank I can fit into a slot in the 3734 is a Dt-16.  Even an Excaliber/Bomber fat free shad 14'-18' doesn't fit, which is almost exactly the same size as the SK series 5 cranks.

But anything with a smaller bill will fit 2 per slot.

I don't believe that is what he's talking about. What he's talking about cost about 45.00.

I definitely wanted to know about the size of the slots too. That's great info. Thank you.
