Buck Bass on Fire

Featured Replies

Got out with a buddy yesterday to a local big pond that has a ton of standing timber.  The buck bass were shallow and hammering spinnerbaits.  I tried backing off shore to find some bigger fish, to no avail.  Later in the evening when the bite slowed down I got a little nuts and threw on a buzzbait.  No more than 10 casts later I hooked into a decent 3 pound fish.  After a few more fish I had one just suck the buzzbait under.  I took the fish for granted and gave it a half hearted hookset, only to see a quality fish(4-5 lbs) throw the buzzbait on a head shake.  About 20 minutes later the same thing happened, but I laid some steel into the fish and landed the only quality fish of the day, going 4 lbs 5 oz.  Was a good day with a lot of fish.
