Whitehall Res. Hopkinton MA

Featured Replies

Hit Whitehall this afternoon from 12:30 to 4:30 for a quick 4 hour challenge. Winds were about 5mph and water temp at 74*. Haven't fished it since September of last year. Went right back to the 100' stretch of shoreline I fished back then, pitching in brush and laydowns. First 2 hours had 6 keepers in the well biggest going 2.6. Came around a point and found myself over a submerged tree. I back out quietly and flipped to it, what I thought to be a good 4+ comes out of no where....tail goes up and nose went down ...... take it for pete's sake! Jiggle-jiggle,come on take it!!!!!!! I swim it slowly off the bottom and she charges for it I get her to follow but now she's a foot from the boat Then Ziggy desides he wants to eat her and dunks his head in mouth wide open Not a happy boy at this point and she's gone with the wind. I regroup after a five minute blackout, back off and continued to fish down the shoreline for about 15 minutes more. I go back and work the area for another 15, NOTHING! 50 feet away I see another submurged tree and figure.....aaah why the heck not. "SHOOT, I'm snagged" and only 30 minutes left before the end. All of the sudden my pole bends whaaaaaaaaahoooooooooooooo play it out get her off the sticks and net her. 6+ !!! What a way to end the T. Best five went 12+ and the challeger ended w/three keepers. All my fsh were caught on a black blue net bait baby paca craw w/foam stuffed in the head(floats standing upright in defensive posture) 14# Sufix Seige Camo, a tungsten 3/16 bullet wait pegged 1/2 inch above and a 1/0 Gammy worm hook.
