Fair Day

Featured Replies

I made it onto the water today although somewhat later than what I would have liked. I went out around noon and when I arrived at the ramp, another guy was bringing his boat in. He shook his head, said the water was too hot. He hadn't caught anything all morning. I put my boat in, went across the river to one of my favorite spots and caught four fish and broke off another two in less than an hour Then it started raining. I stuck it out. They it started lightning and I high-tailed it to shore. The storm passed in about 30 minutes. I got back on the water and fished the rest of the day without catching another fish. Odd how they can turn off so fast. The water was 81 degrees before the storm and about 79 afterwards.

Here are the pics. Nothing special really (largest one went 2-12), but I'm wondering about the red streaks in their tails. Spawn is well past. Anyone have any ideas what causes this?
