It sounded like a good idea

Well the story is that one of my buddies is coming down to my house in a few days and we were going to go fishing in one of the ponds by my house. Now he doesnt bass fish much and I wanted him to catch some so I went out and "pre-fished" to see if I could find some for him, and knowing that I have to find the fish without actually hooking them I had a problem. So I thought if I rolled a hook into a circle then I could feel the fish bite and still get the worm away from them without hooking them. After making the worm "teaser" rig I go out to find some fish. It wasnt long before I had a bite and after playing a gentle tug of war with the fish for about 30 secnds I decide to pull it away from the fish, who apparently was really enjoying his trick worm dinner because he started pulling back and before I know it he is jumping out of the water and pulling drag. So I reel him in and see that the circle had somehow given the fish a lip ring :-?. I dont know how it happened, but I dont think that we will be catching him later.

Good Lord I would have never thought you would catch something on that!!! Hell I can barley catch them when I want to hook them. ;D ;D ;D

That is amazing and that is one talented fish or you are one talented fisherman.  ;D I bet you could not do that again if you tried. lol

Now that he has a nose ring, get him some tat's.

What brand of hook were you using?

I would stay away from them if they bend that easily, unless you bend hooks with pliers when removing them.

Good story and pictures, however in my opinion the moral is to use quality tackle.

In the future if you do not want to catch the fish you can remove the barb from your hooks.

Just a suggestion.  :)

That is a cool story with a great picture. Well done Thefishin1....

Sam, I did that on purpose. All the hooks that I use are gammys and x-points. It was just a light wire 1/0 that I rolled in hopes of not hooking the fish while still keeping the worm weedless.
