Fishing Again

Featured Replies

I went out fishing yesterday for the first time since recovering my fishing rods from the bottom of a pond.  Man did it feel good to be back on the water fishing again.  I caught six chunky little guys all approximately 2lbs give or take an ounce.  I caught five on a Stanley spinnerbait and one on the Rage Tail toad.  Here is a picture of one of the chunky little guys.

That's great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the original story, but not the recovery one,...link?

If none, did you get most of the stuff, just rods/reels,all of them??  etc

Good news either way, I'm just curious :)

LBH,

It is at the end of the original thread.  I dragged the bottom of the pond with magnets and locked on to a lure that was tied on to one of the rods.  My buddy then ran a spinnerbait dowm to the same location and snagged the line and pulled up the first rod.  Once I put the rod in the canoe I noticed the second line wrapped around the end of the first rod that we brought up.  I started pulling that line in and I began getting nervous because the line felt like it did not have anything on the end of it.  After a few minutes of pulling line up I saw the tip of the second rod and pulled it into the canoe.  It turned out the bail arm was up so I had to pull in all the line before the rod came up.  Good thing I had a solid knot tied on the spool.  I still am out quite a bit of tackle and a $40 hat light but I have no problem writing those off as lost and buying replacements.

Ron, did you ever figure out what was on top of the beaver hut?

Glad you are back on the water.

Did you clean and oil the reels?

Will check my schedule for this week on the Potomac and also watch the weather as we may be getting the Fay ran up this way starting on Thursday.

Later,

Sam

The beaver dam had some metalic objecton it, I could get close enough to see.

Joe, I will let you know when I get some time to fish the lake again with you.

Sam, the reels were taken apart and lubricated. I spent a few hours cleaning them up. I am going out of town Thursday morning and returning Friday evening. I am going to the Meadowlands to see the Patriots vs Giants, I got seats in the first row on the 48 yard line on the Patriots side.
