Booyah Pigskin jigs

Featured Replies

Picked up a couple of these for fishing deep rocks and riprap and man I was really impressed by them. I rarely fish factory jigs but the action of the silicon with the living rubber in the skirts of these jigs was just awesome, and the fish seem to like it too. I threw one for the first time a couple days ago with a trimmed baby brush hog trailer and got on a whole school of fish stacked up in a hole off the end of a beaver hut. They were absolutely slamming this thing and I'm convinced the design and materials of the skirt had a major role in this success as a regular silicon skirted jig pitched in there as a follow up yielded nothing.

I was hesitant at first to buy these because I really don't like anything Booyah makes, especially their jigs (most of them are complete garbage IMO). But I'm glad I did because they have become one of the few staple factory jigs in my box now. If you haven't tried them already I highly recommend them  8-)

The round rubber is the deal. I'll take a round rubber skirt over a silicone skirt on a jig any day of the week. And although the Pigskin's are pretty good jigs, I still think the Skinny Bear Elite Footballs are second to none. Plus they are about 25 cents cheaper. :D

What do you think of the hook? On ***.com it almost looks like the same type hook that comes on a BPS football jig, which I'm not a big fan of. :-/

That molting craw color is pretty sexy

Both the Pigskins and the Skinny Bears have Gamakatsu hooks. They may look like the BPS football jig hooks but I assure you, they are not the same.

Wooo, easy killer. You're posting up a storm tonight.

These jigs look pretty good, I'll probably try some. Do you guys trim the skirt on them?

I normally don't whenever I am fishing big footballs deep.

No I usually don't trim living rubber skirts on my football jigs. Because I want a big profile and I want the skirt to flare out as much as possible.
