I got a curado at a yard sale a few weeks back and took it with me today to try and learn how to use it. I put an ika on it and every time I tried to cast it would go straight down and hit the water 5-10 feet in front of me. One time when I went to reel it in all 5 feet there was a fish on. I didnt have a scale but I measured it and it was just under 16in and pretty fat. What does a LM this size usually weigh?

1.5-2lbs. if it's fat.

Sounds fun, loosen up the tension knob and practice and you will be able to chuck that Ika pretty far.
