First Outing of the year

Featured Replies

Hey everyone. Had my first outing of the year on Sunday. Weather was 40 degrees out, water temp 36-37. Marking bait balls in 30-50 feet of water near ledges and humps.

Used 1/4oz dropshot with 4" stickbait and 7" finesse worm and 1/4oz jig. No takers. Was good to get out for a few hours though.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Ive never really fished this early in this water temp...BRRR

That is sweet.  I am planning on getting out pretty soon too.  The river has pretty much thawed out, but is quite low, so I have to use a small boat.  I can't wait to get out casting a bait instead of dropping it through a hole. :)

I was pretty excited... Was good to get out do some practice before water heats up. Might head down south this weekend for some steelhead fishing. Who knows :)
