Open Tournament Coming Up and I Need Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Featured Replies

Ok I have got a tournament coming up this weekend and I need help figuring out where to fish and what to fish.  The lake is called Shearon Harris lake and it is a power plant lake.  This lake has a lot of grass in but I am not sure what it is called.  I saw a show on the Outdoor Channel called Classic Patterns when Dave Wolak was flipping and pitching a YUM Wooly Bug and he was getting a few hits.  Is there anything else I can do to help me win this tournament?

Even though this is a little vague any help will be greatly apperciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shearon Harris is not a big lake. I fished a tournament in Dec and finished second. It is a big bass lake 10-14 pounders. The fish should be about middle way of the arms in 8-12' of water. Most of the grass is dead this time of the year. I would try slow rolling a 1oz spinner bait, a 1/2 or 3/4 Rattle Trap in Gold/ Black top. You will need to watch your f/f for bait fish and the bass will be close by. A drop shot with a pearl Fluke works good this time of year also. You need to do a little scouting before you go. What tournament are you fishing and what ramp or you using? I just noticed you almost live on the lake so what's up. ::) Welcome To BR.

The club that is sponsoring it is called Fuquay Bass club and they are still taking entries if you want to fish in it (www.fuquaybassclub.com).  The ramp is called Merry Oaks ramp.  By the way I'm not that new to BR my email was jacking up and I just had to create a new profile.
