Decent spring so far(pics fixed)

Featured Replies

Thank God the temps are rising and the bass are starting to move around again, seeing as this past winter was one of the coldest and worst winters fishing wise I can remember I am glad to see it go.

The weather has been great for the most part, besides the expected weekly cold fronts, and the fish have begun feeding around staging areas leading up to spawning coves. The jig has been my most effective bait so far with 90% of my fish coming on a brown/purple rubber football jig with a baby brush hog trailer, the remaining 10% have hit various drop-shotted worms, cranks, and jerkbaits.

Here's a couple pics of some decent size largemouth (no brown bass yet) from the pamunkey and chickahominy rivers, and chickahominy lake.

Hey Brett,

I know that place on Chick Lake.

You and your dad have done very well.

Is the Chick Lake muddy?

Just wondering.  :)

Nice fish.  Maybe it just happened this way but looks like your dad fishes out of the back and you take the front.  Haha, same way with me and my dad.  I always have to take control of the TM.  As I get older I appreciate those times on the water with my dad more.
