Today, after classes were out, I decided to wet my line at a small pond on the Gordon College campus. I didn't think that there were going to be any fish in the pond because it is an academic pond, and I just figured that it wouldn't hurt to try. I took out my spinning rod and a Zoom 7 inch motor oil/chartreuse u-tail. (It's my old faithful).

I get out there, and I'm casting off of the shore and not getting any hits, so I walk down the edge a little bit.

There were a bunch of weeds, and I was reeling in and thought that I was stuck on some of them so I just yanked it out. I then saw a very small fish swim away from the reaction. So, I was given hope! I walked around to some cattails and caught two fish in a row. Here is the first one that I caught, also my biggest for the day:

They were small ones, but it was nice to just be out there looking for some fish today! It was great to catch some fish where I wasn't sure there were any at all!
