Skunked At Spruce Run

Featured Replies

Hey guys I was back on Spruce Run Sat.  I went back to the first arm of the lake.  I wanted to check the shallows to see if the bass were warming in the sun.  Yes they were. I kept seeing the bass hit the top left and right.  I started with jigs then went to top water baits.  Nothing.  The a large bass jumped in front of me.  I threw a spinner bait but no strike.  The water temp was 51 F.  I don't know why I couldn't hook up with one.

Clear water?  They may have just been skittish with this bluebird sky.

Hey Russ how you been?  The water was stained.  They were hitting the top for hours while the sun was high. I threw finess topwater baits like the tiny torpedo, jitterbugs and  buzz baits.

What should I look for now?
