Bigger worm for bigger fish?

Featured Replies

Not really sure if that statement is true.....I have been fishing this little pond close to my house for a couple of weeks now and my fav spot to fish is this little brush pile close to the bank. I've been using a watermelon finesse worm and steadily catching 1 1/2 to 2 pounders. So last night i decided to tie on a magnum finesse worm t- rigged and second cast one pounded it hard. I was using my wife's old push button zebco...lol. it took me 10 mins to reel this bad boy in. A lot of fun! It is my biggest catch so far. Definitely not a trophy bass but i was thrilled to catch it! This picture doesnt really do it justice since it was taken on my camera phone but i believe it was 3 or 3 1/2 lbs.

nice fish, i had an old push button zebco 33 i would use for pond fishing till earlier this year, a 2lb bass nailed my spinner bait and stripped one of the gears in it. i did manage to get the fish in, the reel is trash now though lol
