Crankbaiting clear Pond

Featured Replies

Fishing a small resevoir here in the northeast (NY). Water temps anywhere from 50-60 degrees. Pretty shallow too, Im fishing from the shore in fairly clear water (3 foot visibility). Anyways, does anyone have suggestions as to what crankbaits I should be using? Brands, sizes, colors? Lipless or not? Btw, there are some bluegill and crappie in the pond if it matters. Thanks a bunch

This question is a bit too broad to elicit many responses.  I suspect most people would suggest, since the pond is clear, you simply try different natural looking baits until you figure out what they want.

What type of baitfish do you see in the water?  Bluegill, shad??????  You can try just about any color, throw it for a few minutes, if you don't get any bites, change up colors until they start biting.  Then you will know what the bass are wanting.
