Tough day on Lake Roosevelt

Featured Replies

My partner and I head out to Lake Roosevelt on Saturday to pre-fish for a tournament this coming weekend.  I expected the conditions to be rough, but not this bad.  We didn't hook into a single smallie.  Water was cold (39-42 degrees) and very clear.  I tried everything I could think of.  Drop shotting, jigs, jerkbailts, lipless cranks, tubes, etc.  Nothing produced.  The only fish caught were a pair of 18" rainbow trout that I picked up on a drop shot in the first hour or so of the day.  So basically we're going to headed into this tournament at square one.  It's going to a rough weekend.
