Spinner baits for big bass?

Featured Replies

When choosing a spinner bait for big bass, what should you look for?

I have 3 spinner baits that I would think qualify as big bass spinner baits.

Spinner bait 1:

1/2 oz; 2" long Oklahoman blade; chartreuse color

Spinner bait 2:

1/2 oz 1 1/2" Colorado blade; 1/2" secondary blade; black and red

Spinner bait 3:

1/2 oz; 2" willow blade; 1/2" secondary Colorado blade; fire tiger in color

Tell if you want a pic.

Anyways, what do you look for in a big bass spinnerbait?

Thanks :D

I like to throw 3/4 ounce or bigger.....and you should have a white one in there, also a shad color.

I like to throw a spinnerbait that has three or four blades. 1/2 to 3/4 oz slow rolled. You don't get a lot of bites, but they are nice ones when you get them. I try to go with shad colored skirts.

You can also slow roll a single colorado spinnerbait and it will produce some nice fish also.

I also like to use big slow blades around here 3/4 oz bait #5 colorado and a #7 willow or a 1/2 oz bait with a 4 1/2 colorado and a #5 willow is good too.The big girls slam it! 8-)
