Amazing how it can be just on and then just as quickly off.

Today I was amazed again the way fishing can be phenomenal and then just as quickly turn off. While fishing a local power plant lake today erau618 and I had four 3 pound keepers and many 2 pounders. All caught in a hour or so period. Then that school just shut off and no switching of baits could get a bite. We ran to a different spot were we found a school feeding and again caught a few nice ones and then boom there done. You simply found a school feeding or you didn't get bit period. It was tough for me because we left our area where I knew there was fish. So we could go find new fish that might be on. It's a pressured lake this time of year and of course as soon as we left that spot to find other fish and let that area rest, somebody jumped on it. It still leaves me wondering was it the right decision to leave?

I think it was Rick Clunn that always preached: 'Never leave fish to find fish'.

It's hard to do though, especially in winter when the school shuts down and you know they wont be on again for a while. It's a tough decision but I will usually opt to run around looking for active fish.
