Glad to see the "women's platform"

Featured Replies

It's been quite a while since I've been on here and I'm glad to see the woman's forum.  I recall two years ago when the first woman was in the Classic and there were some "not so nice" comments about their place in the tournament.  Happy to see that some minds have been changed!

I would only change my mind if a woman was to qualify for the classic exactly the same as everyone else, which they dont.

what different qualifications do they need to meet?

I dont recall specifically, all I remember is that in essence, she got in because she was a woman.

Yes, it is really nice to have a "special" place for "special" people ;)

As you can see, there are still some with not so nice comments.... :( Unfortunately, there will always be some that think that ONLY men can and should fish. I'm very thankful that there are however some intelligent men out there that realize that their manhood isn't jeopardized!!!

THANKS for your support!!!

I'm all for women fishing, but I don't see what is "not so nice" about the comments with the exception that it is just not what you agree on. My step mom and sister are avid fisherwomen and fish tournaments and even they agree that women should make the Classic the same way as men. Women would get much more respect in the sport if they had to compete and qualify for tournaments if they would compete on the same stage as men, and some do.

If everyone is so equal and women want more respect in the sport don't take the "easier" path.

No one said anything that wasn't nice. Asking for fairness is not being mean. If anything, asking women to qualify the same way as men is giving them equality. Having different requirements implies inequality.

From what I remember....that thread was closed because some were saying that woman aren't as good as men at the fishing game.  I don't care if you don't agree with the Classic qualifications, but putting them down is a different story.

My last two cents...they didn't get in because they were women...they got in because the were the AOY for the WBT.
