What is the easiest way to tell the difference between a spotted(Ky) and a largemouth? 8)

A spot has a patch of teeth on its tongue.

Thanks for your reply. Is that the only diff.? I really want to be able to tell them apart because there is no size limit on the spots and they are good eating. 8)

The corner of a spots jaw does not come past its eye. It usually stops about midway of the eye.

Texas Parks and Wildlife has some pretty good pictures of each with a detailed discription on their web site.  It is under fishing and identifying fish freshwater.  There probably a simular site for your area.
